From its first edition in 2001, Genomics Momentum has grown into the pre-eminent network event for the genomics and life sciences fields in the Netherlands.

Momentum 2009 offers insight into the latest developments in science and technology,
the state of affairs within the Dutch academic and industrial fields and the emerging opportunities for society and business.

The event attracts an average of 600 participants from industry, science, government, healthcare, civil society organisations, education, finance, politics
and media. This year we expect to welcome
a record number of guests.

About

Discover opportunities

Dutch Life Sciences and Genomics consortia have significantly increased their valorisation activities.
Now is the time for everyone in the field to really get involved. Momentum 2009 is the prime setting for discovering new opportunities.

Build on strength

We have to make strategic choices for the future.
Life Sciences are a powerful Dutch economic driver
and the Netherlands has a global reach and influence
in this field. We will be looking at the opportunities for public private investments to secure and further develop this position.

Encourage continuity

While the Netherlands is doing well, this is no time
to rest on our laurels. The Life Sciences field must continue to innovate and make optimal use of the opportunities if it is to ensure Dutch scientific research retains its current high level and grows positively into the future.

Share responsibility

Politics and the government have helped drive the success of Dutch Life Sciences, recognising its global significance early on. Now administrations must see
the development of the ongoing projects and programmes and take stock of the success to secure future funding and support.
