Peptidomics Platform
The Peptidomics Platform at the K.U.Leuven engages in the discovery of novel bioactive peptides in model organisms and humans, the elucidation of the function of these peptides as well as their valorisation.
For the discovery of new bioactive peptides from tissue and cell extracts (prepared by proprietary methods that effectively inhibit proteolysis) or biological fluids,
it makes use of the mass spectrometry infrastructure of the ProMeta core facility at the K.U.Leuven.
For the elucidation of the function of the peptides it participates in the inter-university Functional Peptidomics Consortium as well as the IOF Peptidomics Platform at the K.U.Leuven.
It offers a collection of over 750 novel bioactive peptides for collaboration to academic labs and for licensing to industrial partners. It carries out (differential) peptidomics studies as scientific collaborations or as contract research.
All agreements are negotiated by the university’s technology transfer office.
