CMBI's software development hand-in-hand with BioProdict's dissemination
Henk-Jan Joosten

Academia is good in inventing things, but industry is normally needed to disseminate academic products. BioProdict is a spin-off from the Wageningen university and the CMBI. Its goal is to sell so-called 3DM systems. 3DM systems are produced by an ultra-sophisticated algorithm developed (and published long time ago) by the CMBI. BioProdict has invested time and effort to convert the nerd-friendly CMBI software into a sellabke product. This gives the BioProdict employees a nice salary and it gives new/better visibility to the CMBI software development efforts.
